Colt 1911 Government model shipped November of 1917 to United States Government. This fine original Colt with standard 5 inch barrel with "P" over "H" proof on top of chamber and inspected GHS for Gilbert H Stewart on frame. Correct front and rear sights. Proper diamond checkered grips with wide short hammer, long trigger and flat main spring housing. This gun is original and authentic and has not been upgraded or modified. The Russet Rock Island Arsenal 1917 dated holster with Mills 1918 dated Eagle snap pistol belt with matching Mills 1918 magazine pouch containing 2 additional Colt two tone 1911 spare magazines. Really a fine WW1 rig and is surprising to find in such fine condition as most of these guns ended up being used in between the wars and again issued in WW2. CONDITION. Very fine with over 97% original deep blue remaining on slide. Barrel is excellent with mint bore and most blue finish remaining on chamber and barrel exterior. The frame is excellent with over 85% original blue finish remaining with losses contained to the front strap area and back strap from holster use and storage. The Grips are excellent with no material losses and sharp diamonds. All four grip screws are very good and unfouled. The holster is very good and supple with good stitching. The Mills belt is very fine with very slight soiling that could be cleaned the magazine pouch is equally fine but has stains from rusted magazines on interior only . The eagle snaps are very fine and not pushed or crushed. The two spare two tone magazine are very good with a small area of corrosion at the bottom of both magazine from storage.
