Made from 1878 to 1883 with a total of about 23,000 made. Features twist steel barrels with smooth concave rib with Colt address, case hardened action and case hardened hammers, double triggers and blued trigger guard. Features a round knob pistol grip stock with silver stock shield monogrammed with the letters "F.F.O." Four digit serial number indicates first or second year production. Figured walnut checkered stock with steel hooked buttplate. Checkered splinter forearm with latch release and ebony inlay. CONDITION: Barrels retain 70% twist finish pattern with excellent bores. Action retains 70% case with areas of case turning a pleasing plum color. Trigger guard and metal parts retain 60% original blue. Buttplate possibly has been refinished. Wood has minor scratches and dings with sharp checkering and 50% original varnish. Locks up tight and functions fine.
