Boldly patterned Damascus barrels are engraved "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on game rib without dolls head extension. Case hardened top lever action is fitted with bar locks having deeply chamfered serpentine rebounding hammers. Action is engraved with sprays of scroll within line borders. Lockplates have matching scroll. Both locks are engraved "Colt's Pt. F. A. Mfg. Co.". Top lever and trigger plate are blued, as is trigger guard which has scroll on bow and serial number on tang. Well marbled and nicely figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over Rampant Colt embossed checkered hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering wraps over top of grip. A vacant silver oval is on toe line. Matching splinter forend with ebony inlet schnabeled tip has modified Deeley release. CONDITION: Fine. Barrels retain most of their original Damascus finish. Action and locks retain approximately 30-40% original case color. Locks somewhat stronger. Top lever and trigger plate retain about 20% of their blue. Trigger guard has traces of blue. Stocks retain nearly all of a rubbed oil refinish with a few light marks. Checkering is re-cut. Bottom portion of buttplate is cracked and retained by two extra screws. Bores are fine to very fine with light frosting, may clean. Action is tight. Locks are fine. MGM31.
