This revolver was built in 1959, the second year of production for this caliber, of which 262 were produced in this barrel length and finish. The .44 Special caliber is one of the harder calibers to find; a total of 763 blued, 7-1/2 .44 Specials were manufactured from 1958 to 1974. Revolver comes in the so-called "Stagecoach" box with the liner and warranty card. The Stagecoach box replaced the black box in 1960. Box is not numbered and the end label that would have had barrel length and caliber has been removed, therefore this box is potentially added to the gun or this gun was made in 1959 and not shipped until 1960. The revolver itself features blue finish, case colored frame, six shot fluted cylinder, blued screws, and Colt logo black checkered composite grips. CONDITION: There is a hint of muzzle wear. Cylinder has a drag line and several light cylindrical drag lines. One small rub on backstrap. Retains 99% original finish with bright case colors. Screws are untouched. Near mint grips. Fine bore and action.
