Pre '64 Model 70 action has had bolt knob checkered in two panels. Custom bottom metal is installed with hinged floorplate retained by button in trigger guard bow. Superbly crafted stock of finely marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 13 - 1/2" over Neidner steel buttplate with trap. Stock features swept shadow line cheekpiece, engraved steel grip cap, and exceptionally well executed point pattern checkering at grip and forend with lightning bolt ribbons through pattern. Sling eyes are installed. Weight with scope: 8 lbs 8 oz. Rifle is fitted with Nikon 3 - 9 variable scope with duplex reticle in Leupold mounts and rings. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of casual field use. Metal parts slightly silvered on sharp edges under some light scratches. Wood with light carrying wear and minor handling marks. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth. Scope is excellent, optically clear. A fine bit of work by this master craftsman, recently deceased. MGM 213
