28 - 1/4" Barrels are engraved "Winchester Repeating Arms Co (Match Gun) New Haven Conn U S A" on rib with dolls head extension. Top lever action with bar locks is engraved with 80% coverage scroll within line and vine borders. Scenes of dogs are at backs of lockplates and side of locks are engraved with makers name and "MATCH GUN". Figured European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over checkered horn buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant bronze shield is at top of grip. Matching splinter forend has roller tension release. CONDITION: Fair to good, functional, but should not be shot. All metal surfaces exhibit overall gray-brown to black patina over frosting and pitting. Engraving remains clear. Stocks with old refinish have checkering considerably worn, almost smooth on forend and right side of grip. Butt area has been heavily sanded. There is a 3" crack at bottom of forend and chips along left barrel channel. Part of steel forend tip is missing. Bores are rough. Locks work. MGM 209
