Lot contains: California maker Norman Levine began making knives in 1944 (professionally in 1974) and continued until his death in 1995. He was a full-time maker and a long-time member of the Knifemaker's Guild. Levine focused much of his later career on fancy art knives. He was an incredibly talented craftsman and a gifted artisan who made some incredible knives. Levine's knives always show exceptional attention to detail and his fit and finish work was right up there with the very best. (A) 11-1/2" overall with 7-1/2" double edged dirk blade. Maker's touch mark is located on the ricasso, bronze stylized guards with balls at end and semi-skull crusher butt. Fitted with mastodon ivory and turquoise handle. Unique high art or fantasy knife of the utmost quality. (B) The mate to the previously described knife. with the same highly embellished handle but with a stylized curved fighting blade with maker's touch mark on ricasso. CONDITION: Both are very fine with a very small point chip, balance of knife is as new.
