Early Pieper Nagant Double Action Revolver, some having been purchased by Mexico, with ribbed 5.5 inch barrel having pinned half moon front sight and notched rear sight. "H. Pieper Bte Liege Belgium" marked on top strap. Liege markings on right side of barrel, adjacent frame, and back of cylinder. No noted serial number. Cylinder release on left side of frame. Crane tensioning spring mounted on right side of frame, just as for the Steyr Model 1893. Major components highly polished and blued. Front sight and tensioning spring are fire blued. Hammer and trigger are case hardened. Fitted with finely checkered walnut grips that are internally secured. Base with rotatable lanyard ring. CONDITION: Revolver retains at least 90% of original blue with a noticeable blemish on sideplate, sharp edge wear and a scattering of small, superficial nicks and scratches. Excellent grips with a scattering of dings, some blunted checkering but no cracks or significant losses. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Very unusual Pieper revolver, sold many years ago as part of the Mueller Collection.
