Marked on top of the barrel "W. RICHARDS 61 OLD HALL ST LIVERPOOL.". Scroll engraving on either side of the frame, triggerguard, and grip cap. 6 shot. Double action. Checkered wood grips with German Silver decorations. Unusual loading lever mounted under barrel. 4 5/8 inch octagon barrel. This gun is housed in a wood box with good W. Richards label. In the partitioned case is an unmarked brass bag shaped flask, ebony handled screwdriver of unknown vintage, period nipple wrench, oil bottle, and unmarked Japanned cap tin. PROVENANCE: Renowned Collection of Howard Resnick. CONDITION: Frame retains a pleasing patina with sharp engraving. The barrel retains 70% high luster blue with clear engraved marking. The cylinder appears to have been touched up. Grips are very good showing some wear. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Loading lever is possibly a restoration. The wood case has the usual dings and handling marks with a nice clear label. Partitions are all intact.
