Joe Kious was a full-time knifemaker who sold his first knife in 1969. He specialized in investment-quality interframes and bolstered folders. This master engraved pocket folder is embellished by Robert Strosin whose work has been featured in the "Double Gun Journal" as well as the "Engravers Guild" website. The locking folder with gold watch fob type lanyard loop measures 5-1/4" overall with a blade length of 2-1/8". Blade is signed on right side "KIOUS" and left side has a crest with "B-S" below. Inlaid with four gold Germanic oak sprigs with leaves at all four ends. Inset in left handle is a game scene of two buck deer in a forest setting and uniquely covered in a yellowish translucent epoxy to give the impression of dawn or dusk. The right handle is done with the same technique with the two buck deer battling each other. This exhibition grade embellishment is a testament to the artist ability. CONDITION: Very fine with light handling marks and no evidence of use.
