Rare Kriegsmarine marked 1870 1st model Reichsrevolver. Cannon muzzle. Prussian Eagle on the left barrel flat. Crown / "KM" marked on the left grip. "P/ HMD/ 12" stamped into the right grip. Matching numbers. Standard configuration. Imperial proof on bottom of frame. "36" stamped into back strap. Crown/ M marked on grip cap. Accompanying this rare gun is an even rarer proper Kriegsmarine leather holster which features a cleaning rod pouch on the side. PROVENANCE: Former Tom Knox Collection, The Renowned Collection of Howard Resnick. CONDITION: Gun retains a pleasing patina mixed with approximately 40% original finish and some areas of rust/pitting as to be expected on a Navy issued gun. Wood grips are very good with some wear. All markings are clear. Matching numbers. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster has some crazing and flaking to the outside, but leather is pliable. Stitching is solid. Some tears towards the bottom of the cleaning rod pouch.
