5 inch barrels are engraved "CHARLES LANCASTER 151 NEW BOND ST LONDON" down one of the flutes. Standard commercial proof marks. "C.LANCASTER" engraved in a ribbon on the left side of the frame. "LONDON" is engraved on the right side of the frame. Fine scroll engraving on frame, hammer, triggerguard and hinged door on butt. 5 shot. .62 caliber. Very finely checkered wood grip. Silver unmarked inlay on rear of grip. Case colored frame and barrels. The gun is housed in the proper mahogany box with a "Chas. Lancaster" label on the inside of the lid. Accompanying this gun is the proper ebony handled ram rod, brass cleaning jag, brass powder measure, blued steel nipple pick and single cavity scissor style bullet mold. Mold is marked "WD" on one handle and "No22" on the other. PROVENANCE: The Renowned Collection of Howard Resnick. CONDITION: Barrels retain 30% faded case colors in the flutes. Frame and hammer retain 35% faded case colors. Trigger guard and grip cap retain 60% blue. Bores are very good with some small areas of discoloration. Fine mechanical function. Case is fine with light handling marks and a worn area on the lining from the weight of the barrels. There is a glued crack on the bottom. Small dings. Label is fine with some staining. Accessories are very good showing a nice patina.
