(1983) This attractive small bore gun has 26" dovetailed barrels engraved "CHARLES BOSWELL" with no address, on narrow, swamped game rib. There are gold bands at breech ends. Barrel flats are stamped with 1983 Birmingham nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Scallop backed coin finished boxlock action features non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 90% coverage varying sized scroll with rose bouquet highlights. Blued top lever with more scroll is gold inlaid "EJECTOR". "CHARLES BOSWELL" is in gold on both sides. Floorplate has semi relief gold inlaid quail taking wing. Blued single beaded trigger guard with more scroll has serial number on tang. Eye catching well streaked and lightly fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 3/8" over black leather covered pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Gun comes in green canvas motor case with leather corners, lined in green felt, and has top have of a Boswell label in lid. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of very little firing and limited field use. All surfaces retain approximately 98% of their original finish with some light marks and scattered scratches. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. There is a tiny stress crack on left side panel about 1/4" long. Case is good. MGM 161
