The RIC No. 1 New Model was introduced in 1882. Features an Adam's Type ejector rod, acorn ejector head, fluted cylinder, one piece checkered wood grips, lanyard ring, and screw in oval barrel. A near identical example of this revolver can be seen on page 59, top photo, in the book "Webley Solid Frame Revolvers" by Black, Davis and Michaud. Top of the frame is stamped "ARMY NAVY CSL". The Army Navy store is where the British officers purchased their own private weapons. Most of the officers purchased private handguns for themselves. Left side of frame is stamped "WEBLEYS R.I.C. NO 1 476 CF NEW MODEL" with winged bullet "WS" logo and serial number. Gun is finished in complete factory nickel with British proofs. CONDITION: Nickel finish shows a few age spots and dings but still retains 98% original finish with light brown flaking on front strap and metal buttplate. Gun appears unfired, cylinder has no burn. Checkered walnut grips show some minor dings. Indexes and locks up correctly. Bore is like new. Housed in a British oak display case with brass fittings, lined in blue felt with Army-Navy store label. Within the oak case is a solid brass cleaning rod, original glass oil bottle from Hillas's on St. James Street, and a key.
