There is very rare model 1914 French "Mathiot" flare carbine. Brass frame. Not much information is available on these. Matching numbers. Barrel swings to the side to load. Wood stock. Unmarked with the exception of the serial number on the left side of the gun appears in 3 places in the brass. PROVENANCE: The Renowned Collection of Howard Resnick. CONDITION: Brass had been cleaned a long time ago. Steel barrel and other parts retain a pleasing patina with some minor pitting and rust. Wood stock has dings and handling marks. Some old chips missing the from the toe of the stock, which is to be expected as these were not made with buttplates. Mainspring seems to be missing. Bore is rusty with some pitting.
