According to the factory letter, this rifle was shipped on August 5th, 1905 as an octagon rifle with plain trigger in caliber .38-55. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting sights, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, and walnut stock. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 95% original factory blue with high edge wear along octagon flats. Razor sharp legends. 50% blue on rear sight. 95% blue on tube. Hanger is brown grey patina, as is forend cap. Frame retains approximately 80% original high polish blue. Left side has a little area that was cleaned and is now brown patina. Bolt has 95% high polish blue. Bright case colors on sides of hammer. Generous amounts of color on left side of lever, traces on right side. Grey buttplate. 50% blue on loading gate. Wood is excellent, proud to metal with only minor bruises. Strong, clean rifled bore.
