Features round barrel, blued finish, blade front and carbine folding leaf rear sights, saddle ring and staple on the left side of the receiver, straight grip gumwood stock and forearm, and steel carbine buttplate. Two line address and patent date marking on the left side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight, and "38 WCF" at the breech on the left side. The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Three line upper tang marking and the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. CONDITION: Very Fine. Barrel has 95% original blue with forward part of barrel with light rub marks. Magazine tube full length 95-96% original blue. Barrel band is 96-97% original blue. Overall frame retains 95-97% of the bright high polish Winchester blue with ring wear and a few scattered handling marks. Blued hammer with 97-98% original blue. Lever retains approximately 50% blue with balance blending with smooth homogeneous patina and one light rub at base. Left side of stock has the usual few light impressions. Buttplate retains 90% original high polish blue with just some high edge wear and minor toning. Bore retains well defined lands and grooves, and is mirror bright. Cycles properly, mechanics are fine.
