The double barrel version of the Walther Star model SL, known as the SLd was produced expressly for the Kriegsmarine during WWII. The use of double signals was specifically a requirement for the Navy Aviators at the time. This particular one is marked on the left side of the frame with the full Walther address/ "1940, banner Walther, serial number". Standard Kriegsmarine proofs. "N/ 724" Nord Fleet marked on the backstrap. Wood fore grip with hand stop. Checkered wood grips Stainless steel construction. PROVENANCE: The Renowned Collection of Howard Resnick. CONDITION: Some light handling marks here and there. There are some dings in the bottom of the barrels on either side at the bottom. behind the forend. Markings are clear and sharp. Wood is very good with some dings and handling marks, showing wear. There are some chips out of the rear of the forend on the right side. Fine mechanical function. Bores are fine.
