This beautiful deluxe rifle features unusual special order adjustable front sight, 1876 dated ladder rear sight, blued octagon barrel, full magazine, special order case colored frame, lever, hammer, and buttplate; deluxe checkered pistol grip walnut stock with ebony insert. Factory research states serial number 33718 was built as a .45-60 and changed to .45-75 on June 8th, 1883, change was done before it left the factory. CONDITION: Barrel retains 85-90% original blue with some light age freckling, razor sharp edges with wear, and brown patina coming through surface for beautiful eye appeal. Tube is a smooth blue-brown patina with an overall blue hue. 50% original blue on dust jacket blending with patina. Traces of color on right side in hidden areas, balance nickeled out with age freckling and a few small pits on sideplate. Left side retains 25% case colors on sideplate. 10% case colors on frame, balance nickeling out with age freckling. Stocks are excellent to near mint with beautiful grain and some finish touch-up. Stocks are still proud to metal with sharp checkering. Wood is lovely with virtually no abrasions. Fine action. Very good to excellent sharp rifling with visible frosting and some residue.
