Comes in an old wood grain two piece box with proper yellow end label, matching test target, paperwork, screwdriver and cleaning rod; it appears as though there is a number at the bottom of the box but it is too faint to read. This revolver features vent rib, solid lug, six shot, double action, blued finish, serrated trigger, wide spur target hammer, matte rib, target adjustable sight, early oil finished gold medallion "smiley face" checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Gun exhibits a ghost drag line. No signs of any wear at muzzle. All original blue on inside frame at forcing cone. Gun has been fired as you can see some light residue and a minor burn ring on end of cylinder, but is in 99% near new condition inside and out. Grips are near mint. Beautiful, early gun with box and all that comes with it. As the area of Python collecting defines itself, there should be a large premium for the early near mint guns as the amount of new in box post-80 Pythons is plentiful, the amount of near new in box pre-1970 Pythons is a fraction of that amount. Rarely seen and will rise to the top of collecting circles as more and more collectors become educated in this iconic revolver.
