The Knick was introduced in 1922 and had an improved bolting system, and barrel was made in one piece, instead of the mono-bloc arrangement as used in the Flues. The Knick Model remained basically unchanged for about the next 80 years. This gun has a 32" barrel with matted ventilated rib. Barrel flats are engine turned and stamped with "K3775" and chamber information. Serial number and grade are stamped on lump. Case hardened action with nickel plated trigger, is engraved in usual "4E" style with sprays of large shaded acanthus surrounding sporting vignettes with trap shooter on left and native American with drawn bow on right. Blued trigger guard with acanthus on bow has serial number on tang. Lightly crotch figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over Ithaca sunrise pad. Fleur-de-Lis checkering is at grip, and a vacant gold oval is on toe line. Matching reverse tapered beaver tail ejector forend has Deeley type release. CONDITION: Excellent, mostly original. Barrel retains approximately 95% original blue with some scattered light marks. Action retains 80-90% original cyanide color, fading and turning grey around bottom, and on top tang. Trigger guard retains most of its blue, silvered on right side of bow and at grip. Stocks retain over 85% of enhanced varnish with a few scratches and bumps, considerably crazed. Checkering worn, and does not appear to have been re-cut. Bore appears to be excellent, dirty. Action is tight. Ejector is strong.
