Matching serial numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap, wedge and cylinder. Sports a fluted five shot cylinder. Engraving is Nimschke style scroll, leaf and punch dot background. Wolf head engraved hammer and every cylinder flat engraved. Brass trigger guard and backstrap. Colt's patent on left side of frame. Sharp new York barrel address on top. Engraving still sharp and crisp. This was a very early three digit that was engraved and fully nickel plated. Presentation engraving on backstrap "C SUMMER". One piece varnished walnut stocks. CONDITION: Retains 30-50% original nickel but it is hard to tell the difference between nickel and natural steel as they blend beautifully. Stocks are excellent. Strong, clean, well defined bore. Very handsome presentation Civil War probable factory engraved.
