27 - 1/2" Chopper lump barrels fitted with slightly raised, matted game rib are engraved with steel type and "Flli PIOTTI - ITALY" on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with 1980 Italian nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Importers name and address (Champlin) are engraved on bottom rib. Coin finished, scallop backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety, slightly reinforced frame, and double triggers (front "loose"). Action is engraved with near full coverage very nicely cut traditional rose and scroll. Engravers signature, Granetti, is on trigger plate. Single beaded trigger guard with more scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Nicely crotch figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15" over brown leather covered pad. Very nicely cut closely spaced borderless point pattern checkering is on diamond hand. Matching small beavertail ejector forend with Anson release has gold inlet Piotti crest in uncheckered central diamond. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of casual field use, with only a very few light handling and assembly marks in all factory finishes. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. This nicely made boxlock gun has a current suggested retail of over $19000.00. MGM 191
