This lot consists of a sterling silver shooting trophy won by Arthur W. du bray and has been consigned to our firm by his Great Grandson. The trophy is stamped on the bottom "Sterling / A3756 / 1-1/4 Pint" along with some other hallmarks. The trophy has three handles and is 8" tall and 7" wide. It is nicely engraved with the following inscription "Lyons Trophy Presented to KY Gun Club By F.J. Lyon / A.W. du bray". An internet search shows duBray winning the "Lyons loving cup" at a pigeon shoot at the Louisville Gun Club Friday November 11, 1904. To win this trophy, Mr. duBray shot a score of 46 out of 50 from the 30 yard mark. According to the article, "He used Winchester factory loaded shells in his old reliable Parker Gun." Undoubtedly, using his Parker AA Grade Hammer gun which is also offered in this sale. As mentioned above, this item has been consigned to us directly from the family and never before offered publicly. CONDITION: Overall the trophy is in excellent original condition and remains most of a pleasing unpolished patina. There are a couple of minor handling marks but overall it is excellent. For a Parker collector, this is a prize and fantastic gun room accessory!
