Lot contains: (A) Militia Officer's Eagle Pommel sword with straight tapered blade decorated with 16" blued panels with repeating stars and gilt wash. Guard features an American eagle over two large fouled anchors. Silver plated hilt. Fluted Mother of Pearl grip scales. Complete with brass scabbard. CONDITION: Good to very good. Blade retains approximately 80% gilt and blued decoration, blue has mostly thinned and faded to plum. Hilt retains about 30-40% of thinning silver plating. Grip scales with some minor staining. Scabbard retains a mellow patina with traces of silver in protected areas. (B) Militia Officer's sword with straight blade with etched panels of decoration on both sides. Right side near ricasso marked with Horstmann markings and right side with King's head proof. Cast brass hilt with patriotic eagle on guard and eagle pommel. One piece grip of fluted bone complete with original leather scabbard with brass mounts. CONDITION: Very good. Blade retains most of its original polish with scattered brown stains. Hilt and scabbard mounts retain a brown patina. Grip is excellent and leather is very good with some crazing to surface. (C) Early 19th century eagle pommel Cavalry saber with scabbard. Featuring a curved blade with wide single fuller on each side and panels on blued and gilt decoration including arms motifs on both sides. Brass hilt with faceted D guard and eagles head pommel. Fluted grip of bone. Complete with original black leather scabbard with brass mounts. CONDITION: Good to very good. Blade retains much of its original polish with scattered areas of dark staining. Some of blued decoration has thinned and turned to brown. Hilt and mounts retain a dark patina. Grip has some dark staining and minor cracks from age. Scabbard is very good.
