There are numerous Walkers working in the cutlery business in Sheffield prior to 1890; the only information on "R. Walker" we have found is listing R. Walker in Sheffield, England in the book "Bowie Knives and Bayonets of the Ben Palmer Collection" page 143. This pre-1890 Bowie knife features a spear point blade that is stamped "R. WALKER SHEFFIELD" on ricasso, German nickel cross guard, checkered ebony scales, German nickel pins, full tang. Referred to either as a small Bowie knife or a large hunting knife. Comes with a lightly tooled leather scabbard with German nickel throat and tip. CONDITION: Blade is excellent with sharp edge and just some minor freckling.
