(1966) Made in the last year that this grade was cataloged, this gun has 26-3/8" and 28" Barrels. both with field forends and narrow, ventilated ribs, and have all correct factory markings, along with "MADE FOR ABERCROMBIE & FITCH" on left sides. 26-3/8" Barrels are marked for "IC" and "MOD". 28" Barrels are marked for "MOD" and "FULL". Coin finished action with gold-plated single trigger is engraved in typical Pointer style near full coverage nicely cut scroll within geometric borders surrounding scenes of dogs and birds. A setter retrieves a duck on left side of action, while a pointer retrieves a pheasant on right. A pair of game birds are in open meadow on bottom of action, while a pair of pheasant, recumbent hen and flushing cock are on trigger guard bow. This well detailed work is by "Louis Acampo", whose initials appear on the bottom of pointer scene. Long tang round knob buttstock of nicely crotch figured American walnut measures 14-3/8" over original Browning composition buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Forends match well. Tan Hartman case is lined in faun fleece and contains case information and black and gold "Lightning" hang tag. CONDITION: Excellent, close to new, with evidence of very little firing. Metal condition is superb with only a few very light assembly marks. Wood finish has only some minor crazing, and a few scratches and marks on butt, most on right side. Checkering is still light in color. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent, interior has minor stains and rubs. A truly superb small bore Browning in this catalogers favorite engraving pattern. MGM90.
