Deluxe floral and scroll panels adorn the sides of this most interesting American shotgun. This particular gun has a plain barrel with tops marked with makers name and case law for patents suits. The top of the action is lightly engraved and hand engraved "Burgess Gun Co. / Buffalo, NY / U.S.A.". Stocked with removable pistol grip and uncheckered buttstock which terminates in a hardened ventilated red pad. The forearm is checkered in a diamond point and "X" pattern with floral engraved tip. CONDITION: Very good. All metal parts have turned silver and engraving has thinned. The stocks retain most of an older restored finish with checkering on forend thinned considerably. There is some contemporary checkering on the pistol grip. Barrel markings have thinned and barrel retains about half of its original Damascus pattern. Bore is good with some minor spotting. Overall an attractive and rare gun! JSL
