This is a standard issue rifle that features full octagon barrel, sporting front sight, Winchester sporting rear sight, full magazine, take-down feature, blue finish, walnut stocks, and a rifle butt. CONDITION: The barrel and tube retain approximately 85% original factory blue with razor sharp edges and legends, pleasantly blending to gunmetal grey with usual loss of finish on tube from takedown. Forend cap is brown patina, as is takedown collar. The frame retains approximately 80% of the 1920's type factory blue finish that flakes, in areas where flaking has occurred you will find a mix of gunmetal grey and light patina. Takedown lever and hammer are brown patina. Wood is proud to metal. Forend has one area of chipping approximately 1". The stock is excellent, with the exception that someone has hand-stippled the wrist and refinished the stock to where it is slightly rounded at buttplate. These stocks are normally found at gun shows and on the internet and while it does not effect the mechanical aspect, a new set of wood would greatly enhance the value of this rifle. Action is fine with strong and well defined rifling.
