Handsome half-stock Kentucky rifle with A.W. Spies lock. Long octagonal barrel is missing rear sight but has brass blade front sight. The all brass furniture includes thimbles and an extremely attractive pierced brass patchbox. Silver wedge escutcheon and silver star on cheek piece. CONDITION: Gun appears to have been a flintlock at one time with a bolster conversion. The lock in good condition and functions properly. Barrel pitted at breech. The lovely curly maple half stock with checkered wrist is in good condition with a 4" old replacement to forend by lockplate. Patchbox mechanism works well. Deep rifled barrel has very good bore. Ramrod appears original. Altogether, a most attractive half stock Kentucky.
