This rifle features a heavy rifled octagonal steel barrel with sights mounted on top flat. Stamp engraved flat percussion lock plate stamped "R. B." in a banner. Features double set triggers, brass double spur target trigger guard, and flat serpentine side plate. Other brass furniture includes a two piece brass patchbox, buttplate, and ramrod ferrules. Stock of unusual form and of figured maple. Complete with original ramrod. CONDITION: Good to very good. Barrel retains a dark brown patina with some edge wear and minor corrosion around bolster. Lock does not hold in cocked position but spring is strong, retains a light grey patina with some areas of pitting. Brass has been polished bright and stock shows some wear and scattered marks. A nice honest Kentucky.
