This knife measures 17-1/4" overall. Its steel blade measures 11-7/8" and was made from a file, some traces of file grooves are still present near the ricasso on both sides. The blade has a 4-3/4" clip point and the top of the blade is painted with red number "39", indicating that it was once in the collection of Robert Berryman. Brass guard with downward facing quillons. Brass ferrule decorated with rocker panel border and brass pommel cap. One piece fruitwood grip shaped wooden handle. Complete with black leather scabbard with blue painted tin mounts including a belt loop on left side. Scabbard is also marked on throat mount with red "39" and there are remnants of an old label on the left side of the leather portion. CONDITION: Very good. The blade retains a light grey patina with some darker marks and spotting. The handle and guard are excellent, brass retains a spotted dark patina. Grip with only a few minor marks from use. The scabbard is very good. Leather portion retains much of its old, black finish with some minor scuffs and one cut near the center. Mounts have some losses to paint and minor denting. PROVENANCE: Robert Berryman and Paul Tudor Jones II collections.
