Lot contains: (A) Post 1902 16th Lancer Other Ranks Helmet, brass front plate with battle honors to Aliwal, lions head bosses and chain. Leather and ribbed cloth body exhibiting crazing and wear. CONDITION: Interior with leather and black cotton sweatband also showing wear. (B) Highland Light Infantry officer's shako. Black cloth with diced band, cord festoons and patent leather peak. Complete with original chin strap, cap lines and maroon silk liner with makers mark of "Anderson & Sons/ 14, George Street/ Edinburgh". White metal and gilt officer's front badge below a cord boss which exhibits a gilt thistle badge, silvered side decorations and grotesque mask at the rear. CONDITION: Shako is in very good condition with moderate service wear. (C) Colonial pattern sun helmet with leather sweatband and green cloth lining. Dome label embossed "Waterproof/ Tropical Helmet/ Made in England."
Condition: Very good
