The massive blade measures 27-1/2" and is 4" wide. Etched with Indian figures in relief depicting a king riding a lion. The right side of blade with raised brass inlay of figures in a temple. The spine is etched in relief, with calligraphy, probably Urdu. The tulwar hilt finely damascened in silver with wheel designs and foliage. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey steel, etching in good condition. The hilt with most of its damascening visible showing some wear and age. Teghas are a classic Indian weapon and one of the most impressive and showy, the present example is no exception.
