Data plate on the bombsight head reads: "US Army Air Forces/ Reflex Sight/ Serial number 11516 Type X-1/ Order No W-33-038 AC-4495/ Bombsight SER NO - (Blank)/ Manufactured by/ The W.L. Maxson Corp.". Data plate on stabilizer reads: "U.S. Army Air Forces/ Bomb Sight/ Type M9 Serial No NL2079/ Order No 44-5107/ Carl L. Norden Inc.". Leveling tubes unbroken, dials and switches appear to be in working order, both units retain most of their black finish and are held aloft by an original mounting bracket. Bombsight Data Book mounted in sight head bracket. Included is a World War II bomb release switch and bombardiers position triangular Plexiglas windshield which measures 14" at its widest point and is 23-1/4" long. CONDITION: While the bombsight and stabilizer certainly appear to be complete and in excellent condition, we can not guarantee them to be so. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
