World War II USAAF flight jacket with multi-piece leather 14th Air Force patch sewn on the left breast, above which is a leather name tag reading "C.L. Chennault", single leather star is on each shoulder. Label from I Spiewak & Son's North Bergen N.J, size label 44. Considering that General Chennault's A-2 flight jacket is in the Smithsonian and was donated by his son, we would assume that this jacket, although an original World War II A-2 flight jacket, has had its insignia and name tag added post period. CONDITION: Leather shows moderate wear, heavy at the shoulders. Brown knitted cuffs and waistband show scattered holes, working "Crown" zipper. Brown cotton lining in very good condition. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
WWII A-2 FLIGHT JACKET WITH C.L.CHENNAULT NAME TAG.
