This scarce Belgian made knife pistol features a 4" diamond section, single etched steel blade which folds on the underside of the pistol. On the top there are two round Damascus steel barrels, which are .31 caliber smoothbore and each measure 3" in length. The left and right sides are stamped Liege proofs and both barrels have nipples mounts at the breeches. The percussion hammers are engaged with fire blue folding triggers which are hinged on each side of the knife blade. The frame is of pistol form and features ebony sections on the inside of both panels. Both sides are profusely decorated with high quality engraving, scrollwork, flowers and a dog hunting on the left side. For similar examples, see "Blades and Barrels" by H. Gordon Frost.
CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain a light grey patina with some scattered dark spotting. Knife blade has most of original polish with some minor dark freckling. Triggers retain generous amounts of fire blued finish. Action is strong and functions well. German silver retains a mellow patina and engraving shows little wear. This is a very fine and attractive combination knife pistol.
