Lot consists of (A) Six British Naval hats with ID ribbons for RFA Black Rover, a small fleet tanker of the British Royal Fleet Auxiliary, HMS Exeter, the second and last York-class heavy cruiser built for the Royal Navy during the late 1920s and sunk by Japanese ships at the beginning of March in the Second Battle of the Java Sea, HMS Royal Sovereign, a Revenge-class battleship of the Royal Navy armed with eight 15-inch guns in four twin-gun turrets, HM Submarines, sometimes known as the Silent Service, as the submarines are generally required to operate undetected, HMS Ark Royal, an aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy that served during the Second World War and was torpedoed on 13 November 1941 by the German submarine U-81 and sank the following day, and HMS Penelope, commissioned 13 November 1936, she was torpedoed and sunk by a German U-boat near Naples with great loss of life on 18 February 1944. On wartime service with Force K, she was holed so many times by bomb fragments that she acquired the nickname "HMS Pepperpot". All of the above hats are nearly identical save ribbons and we have no proof that these ribbons originated with these hats. (B) Framed 1921 signed US Navy commission. (C) G.W. Simmons Co Boston Tri-corn hat with US Eagle brass insignia. Date not known but 19th century at least. (D) Four silk small flags; Japan sun flag, Camp Chaffee 5th armored, four star general flag and Republic of China. (E) Ten man cavalry Spanish American War 1898 Cardboard die-cut hand fan. Some minor chipping. (F) 1944-45 Soldiers Friends address book from Shanghai campaign with scarf and printed history. (G) Two framed 1880's Cabinet Photographs. One image of man armed with 1873 Winchester. Other two Indian War era soldiers in dress uniforms. (H) Signed 8x10 photograph of Navy Medal of Honor winner Rear Admiral John Bulkeley. (I) 7 B&W photographs WWII Parade, perhaps for General Bradley. (J) Signed 1863 Quartermaster pay out form. (K) Case of 11 pieces of militaria including French and German medals, photograph, and associated items. CONDITION: Items range from fair to good.
