1942 manufactured White Model World War II U.S. Military M2 Half Track vehicle with Ford flat bed with red wood decking and homemade tripod for mounting a Browning machine gun for recreational purposes. This specimen’s exterior has been painted in German desert tan with Afrika Corps markings for purposes of public display. The German Afrika corps did capture a significant number of these vehicles during the North African campaign and repainted, re-marked and re-purposed them for their own use. They were popular vehicles with both sides. Interior of driver’s compartment retains green paint. Undercarriage has desert tan paint over green paint. CONDITION: Repainted in tan with added Afrika Corps markings on both of the vertical armor- plate. The engine has a new carburetor and the engines runs, but has a sticky valve and needs some work. Left side speedometer not present. Track wheels and rollers in good order. Undercarriage fine with some light surface rust and some flaking to the paint which should clean up well. Tracks and drive wheels in good condition. Steering wheel has only a few shrinkage cracks and remains in good serviceable condition. Diamond pattern floor plates in very good condition. No passenger seat present. Canvas seat cover and pads not present on driver's seat. JWK 18-11-142
