Exceptionally nice Vickers dummy display machine gun with valuable Turkish tripod which incorporates a large diameter brass traversing dial. Gun incorporates a special Anti-Aircraft mounting block on left side of the water jacket. 7.9 mm feed block appears complete but does not move, and appears stuck in the receiver. Dummy receiver sideplates are very thick and will not accommodate internals unless “dressed-down” to make them narrow enough to fit, and this is exactly what has been done with the lock and recoil plates. The lock’s extractor ears have been ground off in order to fit as well. This gun rertains the “flip-up” rear AA sight window, as well as water jacket fill and drain plugs, and the brass cork hardware. Feed block cover retaining latch not present. Sliding receiver bottom cover not present. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish quite fine with green paint on the water jacket and black enamel paint on the metal parts. Top cover and feed block cover open to inspect action and trigger actuates. Crank handle and lock moves under spring tension. A very nice display piece.
