A ship's pennant emblazoned "Mary Eliza", and exhibiting a total of 28 red stars on its top and bottom bands. The 28th star represents the addition of Texas to the United States in 1845. Ten red stars arch in a semicircle over a spread wing eagle and with three white stars on the eagle's shield represent the original thirteen states. The hoist inked "James Udall, Great Neck", presumably the captain or owner of the ship. Measuring 7 ' on the hoist and 16'8" on the fly, hand stitched in wool bunting and cotton. CONDITION: The pennant exhibits a number of period repairs but remains in very good sound condition.
