This model was introduced in 1937 and produced until 1951. The factory Lyman 48WH rear sight has been removed, holes plugged, to make room for a Nikon scope. Stock was not inletted for the Lyman 48 sight. Has two rear sight plugs and a dovetailed front sight scope base. Features the black oxide matte bluing on both barrel and frame. In mid-1948 the tang was changed from cloverleaf to tapered. The flat bottom forend has the blued forearm adjustment base. Has the second variation front sight block as seen on page 182 in the book "The Rifleman's Rifle"; marksman type walnut stock with plain pistol grip, straight comb, checkered buttplate and sling swivels. Trigger guard and floorplate are done in a high polish blue finish. Bolt number matches serial number. Sports an 18x Nikon scope mounted. CONDITION: There is slight wear at bolt knob, otherwise metal retains 99% original factory finish. Wood is near mint with a couple of minor dings. Near new inside and out. Beautiful post-war, heavy barrel target rifle.
