Lot consists of: Gun (A) Remington Model 14, introduced in 1912 and discontinued in 1936 with the introduction of the 141, which is an upgrade of this model. They were considered one of the finest slide action rifles ever made at the time and feature a distinctive spiral magazine. Features a sporting front sight, two filled rear rifle sight slots, blue finish, take-down, razor sharp legends, tang sight, plain pistol grip walnut stock, round bottom grooved walnut fore end, and a period Red Head pad. CONDITION: Some thinning to left rear of frame and one small fingernail of bare metal in the middle, otherwise retains 85% finish with some thinning at bottom. Barrel retains majority of factory finish with some thinning at the breech. Stocks are excellent with a few minor marks, lovely action, and nice strong rifle bore. Gun (B) Model 141 which was introduced in 1936 and was replaced by the Model 141A after the war. The caliber is the venerable game stopper .35 Remington. Rifle features takedown, blued finish, plain pistol grip walnut stock, steel buttplate, and flat bottom grooved walnut forend. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 90% original factory blue with razor sharp legends. The frame has some light age freckling along with a few rubs from handling and thinning on edges, still solid 85% or better. Stocks are excellent. Strong clean rifle bore and fine action.
