This probably imported Confederate musket is converted to percussion using a Confederate bolster conversion. Some parts such as the barrel bands are Confederate made. The top of the barrel is deeply stamped "CITY OF RICHMOND". No other markings are visible. Left side of buttstock features an oval relief cheekpiece. CONDITION: Dark, "as found" attic condition. All steel components retain a heavy brown patina, some corrosion on lockplate and at breech. One barrel band is absent. Wood shows heavy use with scattered scuffs, marks from use, and minor losses around lockplate. Complete with wooden ramrod from period of use. A very nice, complete, original Confederate musket.
