G. Argy-Rousseau Pate de Verre box has red grotesque laughing mask in the center of the lid surrounded by stylized leaves against a mottled green, purple and amber background. The lid rests on a Pate de Verre box with dark gray arches surrounding the side with green and amber leaves in the centers of each arch and a star within a circle at the side of each arch, all set against a mottled green amber and purple background. Similar example illustrated in the book "G. Argu-Rousseau, Glassware as Art" by Bloch-Dermant, in the catalog raisonne section, page 194, fig.23.23. Signed in lid and on box with impressed "G. Argy-Rousseau" and impressed "France" on the underside. Very Good to Excellent.
