The frame was manufactured from September to December of 1941, making this a pre-Pearl Harbor frame. Rebuilt for Korea. Heat lot S-A3. Features a 1963 Springfield Armory barrel, late type rear sight, Springfield bolt, rear sight adjustment is a BME, stock is a replacement with no inspector stamps. CONDITION: The forward wooden forearm is in need of replacement. Rear forearm is fine, stock is very good, quite coarse and needs to be hand rubbed to remove the roughness. Metal retains virtually all of parkerized finish. Barrel has import stamp on left side. Action is fine. Bore has well defined rifling. ME reading: .5. A good shooter and with a new front fore end and some time spent on the stock, a handsome M1.
