This custom engraved Smith & Wesson was built to celebrate the Golden 50th Anniversary of the Henrico County Virginia Police Department. Right side of barrel is engraved "1931 - Golden Anniversary - 1981". The barrel, frame, and cylinder are engraved in a floral leaf pattern with an inlaid police insignia in gold and black on the right side. Backstrap is engraved "HPD Ltd Edition". Trigger guard is engraved "1 of 285 Made". Features six shot fluted cylinder, double action, engraving, polished stainless finish, with silver medallion checkered walnut grips. This special edition is not listed in the Smith & Wesson catalog and was probably a small special order. We cannot find the signature of the engraver but it is believed to be Ken Hurst. CONDITION: This revolver has never been fired as there is no face burn and only a ghost of a drag line. Model 64 is referred to as the Military and Police Stainless. Gun is like new inside and out.
