This Model 1884 Saddle Ring Carbine looks to have a replaced cut-down rifle barrel with dovetail front sight fitted, 1884 rifle rear sight. Stock looks correct for original carbine with strong "SWP 1891" cartouche on left side. Script "P" on wrist. Sling swivel in front of trigger guard. Left side of barrel has "VP" eagle head proof. Unit number stamped on comb "B255". CONDITION: Barrel and frame are a mix of blue-brown patina. Traces of case color on block. Wood is beautiful with just a few minor nicks. Trigger guard is a 70% mix of blue and brown patina. Fairly strong rifling with scattered abrasions and powder residue. The action and stock are so nice on this gun, some one needs to have the barrel fixed or replaced to make it a nice little carbine. Great shooter as is.
