The 4" barrel was introduced in the 1961 catalog, and the first style fully checkered walnut grips were discontinued in 1963. This example has the early grips, according to the book, all original Python fully checkered grips have gold medallions so it is the proper style grips that are original but probably not to this gun, although the medallions could easily be changed to gold to make them proper. All standard Python features to include red ramp front sight, target adjustable rear sight, large checkered target hammer, serrated trigger, six shot, fluted cylinder, vent rib, solid lug, royal blue finish. CONDITION: Cylinder has light drag line. A couple of very minor handling marks, still a solid 98% gun. By changing the medallions it would be totally righteous for an early 4" barrel. Beautiful, early revolver. CORRECTION: Gun is a C&R not Modern.
