Winchester Small Bore .22 short Model 1873 rifle. Two piece American walnut stocks with crescent butt. 2nd Model with integral dust cover rail. Nickel blade front sight with elevator adjustable sporting rear sight. The Winchester 1873 Small Bore rifles saw extensive use on farms and ranches for predator control and were utilized like a tool. Rarely seeing maintenance and used often. Survival in fine condition is rare. CONDITION: Fair. Rifle has attained a very even chocolate patina overall. The walnut stocks are full sized but void of any original varnish. The bore is very dark with no indication of rifling. Hammer fails to stay in the either the safety position or a full cock and needs adjustment.
